Creating Family Leaders
Empowering those having experiences with a loved one’s marijuana and other drug use to advocate for healthy drug policies.
Educate. Empower. Engage.
We envision a world in which children and families thrive, substance use is prevented, and there is rapid access to quality treatment and meaningful pathways to recovery for individuals with substance use disorders.
The Parent Action Network (PAN) is the grassroots initiative of Smart Approaches to Marijuana and the Foundation for Drug Policy Solutions that seeks to raise the voices of families who have been negatively impacted by the normalization and commercialization of illicit drugs.
Our mission is to equip these families with the tools and resources they need to tell their stories and enact change. PAN not only seeks to educate parents on current issues, arming them with science-based facts, but also seeks to train and empower families so they have the confidence and tools to encourage decision-makers to make informed decisions that protect our public health and safety.
We are a diverse group of parents and family members with one goal in common – to make sure no one else endures the devastating experiences these families have.
The Parent Action Network
The Parent Action Network was created with the belief that families have a lot to lose if decision-makers aren’t held accountable for making smart, science-based drug policies that protect public health and safety.
